The Ladies of the Corridor is a scathing look at what happens when widowhood comes to American middle-aged women of the 1950's. Trapped in a residential hotel populated only by others like themselves, chances for happiness are few and far between. Some are bitter, frustrated, bored, some driven to suicide, kleptomania, or constant attendance at the movies, and some, maybe, find satisfaction in a new love or a fulfilling career.
